This is the 'Work in Progress' section, where I'll take you through the various steps of how I complete a painting. Along with the pictures, I've given some explanation of each of the phases and the processes I use. I apologize for the glare and blur to the pictures...I'm just learning how to use my digital camera to photograph my work.
This painting was a private commission done for a new game store in England called 'Hidden Fortress Games'. They have a fantasy/samurai theme to their store and wanted an image that illustrated this and could be used on business cards, t-shirts, etc. It was a fun opportunity to do some Japanese fantasy genre work again, and the client gave me a great deal of freedom in designing the piece.
So without further ado, here's how I created 'The Hidden Fortress'.
